As children move from our setting to reception class, we understand the children need to feel secure, settled and valued. Our aim is to maintain good working relationships with the Local primary schools.
We provide the transition coordinator of the appointed school, the data and record of each child's individual learning journey, compiled by our highly qualified practitioners, with parental permission.
We invite all the reception teachers to visit the children at our setting, enabling the children to become familiar with their new teacher. We also support the appointed schools during their own transition visits, by accompanying the children to their new classrooms.
We involve the parents and families, keeping them informed of any arrangements we have made with their own child's new learning environment. Our parent liaison officer supports parents with social events the new schools will be hosting.
Confidentiality during the transition process is paramount.
